I grew up inside a printing press. Lokmangal Mudranalay has been my family's work since it was started in Satara in 1983. I learned to read proofs before I learned to drive. I know the smell of a bindery at 2am when a school order has to ship in the morning.

For forty-three years we printed for India. Textbooks for Maharashtra. Children's readers in Marathi. Exam guides that got passed down between siblings until the spines gave out. We were good at it, and we were quiet about it.

Then I started talking to publishers outside India — in Nairobi, in Lagos, in Cape Town — and I heard the same story over and over. They were paying 25 to 45% more than they needed to, because their print was routed through agents, brokers and re-sellers who had never set foot in a factory. Every hand the job passed through took a margin and added a week.

So we built wavvelytte. Same factory. Same presses. Same family name on the door. But a purpose-built system for international customers: quotes in 24 hours, MOQs that respect the reality of an SME print run, door-to-port shipping to twelve ports, and no one between you and the person who owns the press.
